Patination Oil is used to prevent the lead from oxidizing in wet or damp weather conditions. It should be applied to newly applied lead and flashings exposed to the elements. Areas with high exposure should be given a second coat. It not only minimises the formation of unwanted carbonate but also enhances the overall appearance of your lead sheet, deterring unsightly staining caused by uneven patina formation and ensuring a beautiful finish that lasts.
