Humber Sandfaced Third Round Hip Cheshire Mix is suitable for use on the hip of a roof, used in conjunction with half round ridge, designed to connect the tiles together and cover the hip intersection of a pitched roof. A hip roof is where all four sides of the roof slope downwards from the peak. Like the ridge tiles, they protect the intersection of two roof slopes, helping to channel water away from the ridge, preventing water penetration and potential damage to the underlying roof materials. Clay roof tiles are a popular choice as concrete alternatives tend to lose their colour over time, whereas the clay can look better with age, by developing a wonderful patina over a period of time.
